As reported Insurance Journal,
The Insurance Australia Group reported about the insurance profit of $815 million for the half-year period. In comparisong with the first half of 2012 when the profit was only $276 million the last numbers are rather high. The Managing Director Mike Wilkins, for example, thinks that such positive changes were achieved thanks to reflecting of a strong business.

Our strategy of accelerating profitable growth in Australia and New Zealand, and building on our Asian footprint is continuing to deliver results. All our businesses reported higher revenue and earnings for the period,
as the Insurance Australia Group CEO noticed.

Some another sources suppose that the IAG success was also possible because of net natural peril claim costs, benefit from credit spreads, reserve releases, and significantly higher investment income on shareholders’ funds. The IAG's activity was also presented from the capital position. It was described as

strong with a minimum capital requirement (MCR) multiple of 1.80 at 31 December 2012. This equates to a prescribed capital amount (PCA) of 1.69, under the new regulatory capital regime which commenced on 1 January 2013, and compares to the Group's benchmark of 1.4 to 1.6 times,
as the source reported.

Australia Direct still stays the main IAG’s business. The CEO Mike Wilkins find it possible to wait for the Group’s strong GWP growth in 2013.

As Insurance Journal reported,
The Missouri Department of Insurance can be proud of its investigator Dennis Fitzpatrick. He has unraveled the case against St. Louis insurance agent Wendi Glass. It was found out that Glass could have collected homeowners and auto insurance premiums from consumers. He had never transfered the money to an insurance company. D. Fitzpatrick has got a reward for his activity.

Your efforts to support the investigators of the St. Louis County Police Department speak highly upon your work ethic, dedication and knowledge in your area of expertise. You are a credit to your agency, the Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration, and an asset to the citizens of the State of Missouri,
as Board of Police Commissioners said.
